Recovery 5

Easy 5 miler this morning. Felt ok but tired from working late last night. Right foot has been bothering me for quite a while so I've been icing it prior and post runs.

45 minutes 133 HR.

Fog & Fumes

My hour today netted another 10 x 400. Legs felt much better after last night's massage therapy. Foggy on my quarter mile stretch kept the fumes from the passing cars & trucks down in my breathing space. Ugh.

Lactate built a little earlier today but I felt good overall.

Massage Day

No run. Legs hurt, feet hurt, tired. So I got some sleep and a massage instead. Now I feel fine.

Mike is organizing a two day practice run on the MDI course in September. I am looking forward to it. Marc & Jamie will be going. Anyone else?

Goodbye Moon

During the first mile I was jogging through a blanket of moonlight through the graveyard and smiling at my good fortune. But by mile two the top of the moon was lopped off. and by mile six, only the bottom sliver was left giving me a lunar smile. A pleasant 6 mile warm up during the lunar eclipse.

Then like the surface of a cold darkened moon my run turned bleak... The dreaded quarter mile repeats were upon me.

Even so, they weren't so bad. I tempered my enthusiasm in the early sets allowing me to get some volume (10 x 400). A short cool down and my two hours were up.

12.86 miles. Avg HR 139.

A new start

I got out this morning for an easy 2 hours. The weather was cool and the sunrise brilliant.  I'll take Maine summers any day.

The first part of my run was in darkness. This will only get worse. But it is a sign of good seasons to come.

Easy hour

The weather is getting cooler and I'm on my way out of my funk. Got out for an easy hour this morning (7.47 miles). Felt a little creaky from the days off but not too bad. HR 136.

I thought my Garmin was dead for the past week. But it turns out it was just a dirty battery connection. I forget which blog I read this on, but the Garmin connectors get a little dirty or something from the sweat of your arm. Give them a good scrape (I used my fingernail) if the unit won't charge. It worked.

Hello

I am still here, just faltering under the stress of work lately. 12 miles this morning ~7:20 pace.

Wore a wind jacket for the first time in many weeks as the wind was blowing quite hard this morning. A beautiful sunrise - it felt like fall, only slightly warmer. Ah, autumn. Now that's a season.
