I was lucky enough to see it launch live from Kennedy Space Center when I was a kid. Unforgettable experience for sure.
Ah, so great that people still care about this! My Dad designed the Turbopump and was also the manager for the LOX pump on the Space Shuttle Main Engine. He was invited to the first launch, and this remains one of his fondest memories...
