A Day Off & I Don't Care
Out late last night at a meeting, so when the alarm went off at 5:30 for my hard day run I was still tired. So I rolled over and went back to sleep. I suppose I could have gotten up, but this early in my new plan, the last thing I want to do is run hard on too little sleep. Seeing how this has got me into trouble before, I am being cautious. I have been going to bed earlier these days and been feeling really good at dawn. The fact that the alarm woke me up from a deep sleep was very telling and I took the cue to focus on getting the rest. Now, if I was independently wealthy, I could have run later on in the day. As it is, the mornings right now are the only time that work. So, if I miss a morning run I'm out the day.
Surprisingly, I am not at all sorry. I feel better about not being a slave to the log. On the other hand, it is important that I do pay attention to getting to sleep on time each night if I am to have both sleep and quality workouts. Tomorrow calls for a recovery day and I'll stick with the plan. It is 5 miles easy. I'll probably sneak a few extra miles in for supplemental.

Was wondering what happened to you, glad to hear you're getting back on your feet :)
Thanks! I am glad to be coming back around. A rather large funk (though I didn't know it at the time). This time around I am being careful with my mileage and speed build-up.
